On 29-31 May 2012, Almaty saw a telecoms week: the marathon started with a one-day Kitel’12 Conference to be continued with a one-day i-MIX’12 Internet Conference.

Kitel was unfailingly organised by Iteca Kazakhstan Exhibition Company jointly with its Russian partner, ITE Moscow. The sponsors of Kitel 2012 Showcase and Conference were Polycom, 3G Multimedia LLC, TTK Company, and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.

The i-MIX’12 Conference was held by Iteca LLP together with Award.kz National Internet Awards and KazNet Events.

“The Information and Communication Technology Sector in Central Asia: Today and Tomorrow. Development and Cooperation Outlooks” was the key subject of the Kitel 2012 Conference. Subsequent sessions were devoted to the following topics: “Further Development Prospects of Fixed-Line and Wireless Telephony”, “New Opportunities and Development Prospects of TV and Radio Broadcasting”, “Challenges and Solutions in the Field of Information Technologies and Services. Production and Innovations”, and “Training and Employment of Specialists for the Information and Communication Technology Sector and Cooperation in the Sphere of Educational Technologies”.

The Kitel 2012 Showcase was open for visitors during all three days and featured companies from 9 countries of the world geographically represented as follows: Belarus, China, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates. Special mention should be made of the fact that Kitel 2012 was attended by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce with a group of companies.
