KITEL: Keeping Up With the Times…

In 2011, the renowned KITEL telecom exhibition has successfully changed its brand.
Rebranding aimed at brand strengthening and better coverage of the target group gave the event a new life. The i-MIX'11 conference held within KITEL 2011 was highly appreciated by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mr. Masimov communicated with the conference delegates in quite a special way – through a video conference. When asked at i-MIX’11 telebridge how he could write in so many blogs and other Internet resources, Mr. Masimov replied, “As for Twitter, I write myself. Our PR managers write in all other resources”. He also emphasised that owing to various IT innovations he is available in the cyberspace almost 24 hours a day.

The 1st i-MIX’11 Kazakhstan Internet Conference was held on Day 2 of the exhibition concurrently in three conference rooms – Pushkin Room, Maria Room and Turkish Room of Bakshasarai Reception House. The programme of i-MIX’11 Internet Conference included 8 thematic sections held in three parallel streams. The i-MIX'11 conference is organised by Iteca and Award.kz, the national internet award, together with the Aydan Web-Studio, 4DClick Full Cycle Internet Agency and Direct PR Agency under the auspices of the Internet Association of Kazakhstan.

“The present-day world focuses on transition to information-oriented society and innovative economics. The society has become fully aware of the prominent benefits offered by the global development of Internet and propagation of IT and computer technologies which radically transform not only the activities of the governmental and civil institutions but also social relations in the community, science, education and culture, and living habits. In this connection, I would rate this Internet conference held within KITEL as a long-term outlook,” Yuri Borodikhin, ITECA’s Executive Director, said at the press conference held at i-MIX’11 opening ceremony.

It should be noted that online business is evolving through advertising and company website promotion. That is why i-MIX combines three areas: the main programme of the Kazakhstan Internet Conference, professional Formula Site programmes from 1C-Bitrix (Russia) and Web-Advert from 4DClick (Kazakhstan).

The exhibitors were represented by the companies from Belarus, China, France, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, and Ukraine. A central place at the exhibition was occupied by KazakhTelecom National Company. The sponsors of registration at KITEL 2011 were Digital TV Family Channel One and the Carousel channel (Russia). 1,985 visitors were registered during three days of the exhibition.

KITEL 2012 will be held on 29-31 May 2012 in Almaty. To hold up the tradition launched at KITEL 2011 2nd Kazakhstan Internet Conference i-MIX’12 is scheduled for 31 May 2012.
